حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ : أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ، وَزَيْدًا كَانَا" لَا يَحْجُبَانِ بِالْكُفَّار، وَلا بِالْمَمْلُوكِينَ، وَلَا يُوَرِّثَانِهِمْ شَيْئًا "

English Translation

It was narrated from al-Sha'bi that Ali and Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) used not to exclude heirs on account of unbelievers or slaves, nor did they give them any inheritance.
