ْأَشْعَثُ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ الْجَدَّ قَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّتُهُ، وَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ " جَعَلَ الْجَدَّ أَبًا "، وَلَكِنَّ النَّاسَ تَحَيَّرُوا

English Translation

It was narrated from al-Hasan (al-Basri) that he said: 'The Sunnah concerning the grandfather has been established, and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) treated the grandfather as a father — but the people became confused about it.'
