حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ : أَنَّهُ كَانَ" يُقَاسِمُ بِالْجَدِّ مَعَ الْإِخْوَةِ إِلَى الثُّلُثِ، ثُمَّ لَا يُنْقِصُهُ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibrahim, from Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), that he used to divide the grandfather's share equally with the brothers down to a minimum of a third — and would not reduce it below that.
