حَدَّثَنَا عبد الله بن جعفر الرقي ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ

إِبْرَاهِيمَ : " فِي رَجُلٍ اشْتَرَى ابْنَهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ، قَالَ :إِنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ الثُّلُثِ وَرِثَهُ، وَإِنْ وَقَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ السِّعَايَةُ لَمْ يَرِثْ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Hammad, from Ibrahim, regarding a man who purchased his own son during his illness: 'If the purchase comes within a third (of the estate), the son inherits. But if the son must work to earn his freedom (si'aya), he does not inherit.'
