حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ ، قَالَ : " أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ غُلَامًا سَائِبَةً، فَأَتَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، وَقَالَ : إِنِّي أَعْتَقْت
Body (Matn)
ُ غُلَامًا لِي سَائِبَةً، وَهَذِهِ تَرِكَتُهُ، قَالَ : هِيَ لَكَ، قَالَ :لَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهَا، قَالَ : فَضَعْهَا، فَإِنَّ هَهُنَا وَارِثًا كَثِيرًا "

English Translation
It was narrated from al-Sha'bi that he said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the inheritance of the sa'iba belongs to the public treasury, for he had no master (mawla) in his lifetime.
