حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ

، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ :" إِذَا كَانَتْ الْحُرَّةُ تَحْتَ الْمَمْلُوكِ، فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ غُلَامًا، فَإِنَّهُ يُعْتَقُ بِعِتْقِ أُمِّهِ، وَوَلَاؤُهُ لِمَوَالِي أُمِّهِ، فَإِذَا أُعْتِقَ الْأَبُ، جَرَّ الْوَلَاءَ إِلَى مَوَالِي أَبِيهِ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibrahim that he said: 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If a free woman is married to a slave and she bears him a son, the son is freed through his mother's freedom, and his walaa' belongs to his mother's mawali. Then when the father is freed, he pulls the walaa' to his own masters."
