Arabic Text

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا ، يَقُولُ :" مَا كُنْتُ أَرَى أَنَّ أَحَدًا يَعْقِلُ يَنَامُ، حَتَّى يَقْرَأَ هَؤُلَاءِ الْآيَاتِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ، وَإِنَّهُنَّ لَمِنْ كَنْزٍ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ "

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I would not think that any person of sound mind would sleep before reciting the final verses of Surah al-Baqarah — for they are from a treasure beneath the Throne."
