Chain of Narration (Isnad)

أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ

Body (Matn)

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" عَفَوْتُ عَنْ صَدَقَةِ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ، هَاتُوا صَدَقَةَ الرِّقَةِ مِنْ كُلِّ أَرْبَعِينَ دِرْهَمًا دِرْهَمٌ، وَلَيْسَ فِي تِسْعِينَ وَمِئَةٍ شَيْءٌ حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ مِائَتَيْنِ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), who traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: 'I have exempted you from the zakat on horses and slaves. Bring the zakat on silver: for every forty dirhams, one dirham. There is nothing due on one hundred and ninety until it reaches two hundred.'
