Hadith #954
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، عَنْ عِيسَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ص
َلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، فَأَخَذَ تَمْرَةً مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ فَانْتَزَعَهَا مِنْهُ، وَقَالَ : " أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهُلَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Layla (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'I was with the Prophet ﷺ while al-Hasan ibn Ali was also with him. Al-Hasan took a date from the sadaqah dates, but he took it from him and said: Do you not know that we are not permitted to consume sadaqah?'
