Hadith #1002
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ :" تَسَحَّرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ. قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَمْ كَانَ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالسُّحُورِ؟ قَالَ : قَدْرُ قِرَاءَةِ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً "

English Translation
It was narrated from Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'We ate the pre-dawn meal (suhur) with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he rose for the prayer.' He was asked: 'How long was it between the adhan and the suhur?' He said: 'About the duration of reciting fifty verses.'
