Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
يَقُولُ : " لَا تُوَاصِلُوا، فَأَيُّكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُوَاصِلَ، فَلْيُوَاصِلْ إِلَى السَّحَرِ ". قَالُوا : إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ. قَالَ : " إِنِّيأَبِيتُ لِي مُطْعِمٌ يُطْعِمُنِي، وَيَسْقِينِي "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Do not practice continuous fasting (wisal); whoever among you wishes to do so, let him continue only until the pre-dawn meal.' They said: 'But you yourself practice wisal, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'I spend the night while there is one who feeds me and gives me drink.'
