Hadith #1084
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ، وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، وَكَانَ بَيْنَ فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ لِحَاءٌ فَرُفِعَتْ، وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا،فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ : فِي الْخَامِسَةِ، وَالسَّابِعَةِ، وَالتَّاسِعَةِ "
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out intending to inform them about the Night of Decree, but two Muslim men were quarreling. He said: 'I came out to tell you about the Night of Decree, but there was a dispute between so-and-so and so-and-so, and it was lifted. Perhaps that is better. Seek it in the last ten nights: on the fifth, the seventh, and the ninth.'
