حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ

Body (Matn)

بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، قَالَ : حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اثْنَتَيْنِ : قَالَ : " إِنَّاللَّهَ كَتَبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءِ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ، فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to eat of the sacrificial meat for three days and then prohibit it. He was asked about it and said: 'I had the opportunity to do so, and one who has the means should not exceed what is sufficient.'
