Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعُشَرَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَمَا تَكُون
ُ الذَّكَاةُ إِلَّا فِي الْحَلْقِ وَاللَّبَّةِ؟ فَقَالَ :" لَوْ طَعَنْتَ فِي فَخِذِهَا، لَأَجْزَأَ عَنْكَ ". قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : حَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى الْمُتَرَدِّي

English Translation
It was narrated that a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade keeping the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days. After that, he said that it may be stored. Tawus asked: Why did he forbid it at first? He said: The daffah (people in need) came that year, so he wanted the people to feed them.
