Hadith #1312
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْكُلُ طَعَامًا فِي سِتَّةِ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَأَكَلَهُ بِلُقْمَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَوْ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ، لَكَفَاكُمْ، فَإِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ، فَلْيَذْكُرْ اسْمَ اللَّهِ، فَإِنْ نَسِيَ أَنْ يَذْكُرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ، فَلْيَقُلْ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ ". أَخْبَرَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet ﷺ was eating food with six of his Companions when a Bedouin came and ate it in two mouthfuls. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Had he mentioned the name of Allah it would have sufficed you. When one of you eats, let him mention the name of Allah. If he forgets to mention the name of Allah at the beginning, let him say: In the name of Allah at its beginning and its end.'
