Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ :" أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّه
ُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ بِإِيلْيَاءَ بِقَدَحَيْنِ مِنْ خَمْرٍ وَلَبَنٍ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمَا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ اللَّبَنَ، فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَاكَ لِلْفِطْرَةِ، لَوْ أَخَذْتَ الْخَمْرَ، غَوَتْ أُمَّتُكَ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'During the Night Journey, I was brought a vessel of milk and a vessel of wine. I chose the milk, and Jibril said: You have chosen the fitrah. Had you chosen the wine, your nation would have gone astray.'
