حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَا

قَ عَنِ التَّمِيمِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمِرْتُ بِالسِّوَاكِ حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ فِيهِ

English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, he said: Sharik narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Tamimi, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I was commanded to use the siwak until I feared it would be made obligatory upon me.' Or he ﷺ said: '...until I feared it would be revealed as an obligation in the Quran.'
