حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا طِيَرَةَ وَلَا عَدْوَى وَلَا هَامَةَ و
َلَا صَفَرَ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا لَنَأْخُذُ الشَّاةَ الْجَرْبَاءَ فَنَطْرَحُهَا فِي الْغَنَمِ فَتَجْرَبُ قَالَ فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Simak, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'There is no tiyarah (superstitious belief in omens), no 'adwa (contagious disease spreading by itself), no hamah (owl superstition), and no Safar (superstitious belief about the month of Safar).' A Bedouin said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about a mangy camel that comes among healthy camels and they all become mangy?' He said: 'Then who infected the first one?'
