حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَ
يْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مَيْتَةٍ فَقَالَ أَلَا اسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِجِلْدِهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّمَا حَرُمَ أَكْلُهَا

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Mus'ab narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a dead sheep and said: 'Why did its owners not benefit from its skin?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, it is dead.' He said: 'Only eating it is forbidden.'
