English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ikrimah — that he said: 'I said to Ibn 'Abbas: "I prayed Dhuhr behind an ignorant old man who made twenty-two takbirs in the prayer — making takbir when he prostrated and when he raised his head from prostration." Ibn 'Abbas said: "Shame on you! That is the sunnah of Abu al-Qasim (ﷺ)."'
