حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ كَت
َبَ إِلَيَّ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ أُعْطُوا بِدَعْوَاهُمْ ادَّعَى نَاسٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ دِمَاءَ نَاسٍ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Nafi' ibn 'Umar narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah who said: Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما wrote to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If people were given everything they claimed, some people would claim the blood and wealth of others. But the oath is upon the one against whom the claim is made.'
