حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لِي عَهْدٌ بِأَهْلِي مُنْذُ عَفَارِ النَّخْلِ قَالَ وَعَفَارُ النَّخْلِ أَنَّهَا إِذَا
كَانَتْ تُؤْبَرُ تُعْفَرُ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا لَا تُسْقَى بَعْدَ الْإِبَارِ فَوَجَدْتُ مَعَ امْرَأَتِي رَجُلًا وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا مُصْفَرًّا حَمْشًا سَبْطَ الشَّعْرِ وَالَّذِي رُمِيَتْ بِهِ خَدْلٌ إِلَى السَّوَادِ جَعْدٌ قَطَطٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ ثُمَّ لَاعَنَ بَيْنَهُمَا فَجَاءَتْ بِرَجُلٍ يُشْبِهُ الَّذِي رُمِيَتْ بِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via al-Qasim ibn Muhammad — that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have had no intimate relations with my wife since the [time of] 'afar [pollination] of the palm trees.' ['Afar: the period of forty days after pollination during which palms are not watered.] 'I found a man with my wife.' The husband was pale and slender with straight hair, while the man she was accused of [a relationship] with was dark-complexioned with curly, tight-coiled hair. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, make it clear.' He then conducted the li'an [oaths of imprecation] between them, and she gave birth to a boy resembling the one she had been accused of.
