حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ قَ
الَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الْجَدِّ أَمَّا الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُهُ فَإِنَّهُ قَضَاهُ أَبًا يَعْنِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ikrimah — that Ibn 'Abbas said regarding [the inheritance of] the grandfather: 'As for the one to whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If I were to take a close friend [khalil] from this ummah, I would have taken him as such' — he ruled that [the grandfather] takes the share of a father.' He meant Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه).
