Hadith #58
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّا
سٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَلَيَّ بَدَنَةً وَأَنَا مُوسِرٌ لَهَا وَلَا أَجِدُهَا فَأَشْتَرِيَهَا فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبْتَاعَ سَبْعَ شِيَاهٍ فَيَذْبَحَهُنَّ

English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, he said: 'Ata' al-Khurasani said, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'I owe a sacrificial camel (badanah) but I cannot afford it.' the Prophet ﷺ told him to buy seven sheep and sacrifice them instead.
