English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Salama ibn Kuhayl, from 'Isa ibn 'Asim, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Taking omens from birds [al-tiyara] is a form of shirk. And there is none among us who does not [experience this tendency] — but Allah removes it through [proper] reliance [tawakkul] [upon Him].'
