English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Aswad ibn 'Amir, from Zuhayr, from Abi Ishaq, from Sa'd — or Sa'id — ibn 'Iyad — that 'Abdullah said: 'The most beloved joint of meat [al-'arq] to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the foreleg of a sheep. And he believed he had been poisoned through the foreleg of a sheep. And we used to believe it was the Jews who had poisoned him.'
