English Translation
Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from his father, from Abu al-Duha, from 'Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) رضي الله عنه who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, every prophet had allies (awliya'), and my ally is my father Ibrahim عليه السلام and my friend (khalil) is my Lord عز وجل.' Then he recited: 'Indeed, the most worthy of Ibrahim among the people are those who followed him and this Prophet and those who believe.' [3:68]
