Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سُورَةِ النَّجْمِ فَمَا بَقِ
يَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ إِلَّا سَجَدَ إِلَّا شَيْخٌ أَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى فَرَفَعَهُ إِلَى جَبْهَتِهِ وَقَالَ يَكْفِينِي هَذَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ قُتِلَ كَافِرًا

English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Aswad, from 'Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) رضي الله عنه who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated during Surat al-Najm, and no one remained except that he prostrated, except an old man from the Quraysh who raised a handful of pebbles to his forehead and said: 'This is sufficient for me.' Ibn Mas'ud said: 'I later saw him killed as a disbeliever.'
