English Translation
Yahya ibn Zakariyya narrated to us, from Isra'il, from Abu Fazarah, from Abu Zayd the freed slave of 'Amr ibn Hurayth, from Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه who said: I was with the Prophet ﷺ on the night of the Jinn. He said to me: 'Do you have water?' I said: 'I have nabidh (date drink) in a vessel.' He said: 'Pour it for me.' So I poured it and he performed wudu with it. He said: 'It is a drink and purification.'
