حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي

الْأَحْوَصِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْبَاقِي يَهْبِطُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ يَفْتَحُ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ فَيَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ سَائِلٍ يُعْطَى سُؤْلَهُ وَلَا يَزَالُ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَسْطَعَ الْفَجْرُ

English Translation

'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muslim narrated to us, Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani narrated to us, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. Arrogance is rejecting the truth and looking down on people.'
