English Translation

Muhadir Abu al-Muwarri' narrated to us, 'Asim narrated to us, from 'Awsajah ibn al-Rammah, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi al-Hudhayl, from Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The first thing you will lose from your religion is trust (amanah), and the last thing you will lose is the prayer. And indeed, the prayer will be performed by one for whom there is no good in it. And this Quran that is among you is about to be taken away.' He was asked: 'How will it be taken when it is in our hearts and written in our books?' He said: 'It will be taken at night and they will wake up and it will not be in their hearts nor in their books.' Then he recited: 'And if We willed, We could surely take away that which We have revealed to you.' [17:86]
