حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلًا فَانْطَلَقَ إِنْسَانٌ إِلَى غَيْضَةٍ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا بَيْضَ حُمَرَةٍ فَجَاءَتْ اَلْحُمَرَةُ تَرِفُّ عَلَى رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرُءُوسِ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ أَيُّكُمْ فَجَعَ هَذِهِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْ
مِ أَنَا أَصَبْتُ لَهَا بَيْضًا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ارْدُدْهُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلًا فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ وَقَالَ رُدَّهُ رَحْمَةً لَهَا

English Translation
Abu Qatan narrated to us, al-Mas'udi narrated to us, from al-Hasan ibn Sa'd, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abdullah, from his father ('Abdullah ibn Mas'ud) رضي الله عنه who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped at a place, and a man took something from a burrow. So the hummarah (a small bird) came flapping her wings. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Who has distressed this bird by taking her young? Return her young to her.' He also saw an ant colony that had been burned and said: 'Who burned this?' They said: 'We did.' He said: 'No one should punish with fire except the Lord of the Fire.'
