English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah — that Ibn 'Abbas said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out in the year of the Conquest toward Makkah during the month of Ramadan, and he fasted until he passed by a pool of water on the road at the peak of midday. The people became thirsty and began craning their necks toward it, their souls yearning for it. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a cup of water, held it in his hand until the people could see it, then drank — and the people drank.'
