حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ الْأَحْوَلُ أَنَّ طَاوُسًا أخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَل

َّمَ إِذَا تَهَجَّدَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ دُعَاءِ سُفْيَانَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ وَقَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ وَلِقَاؤُكَ الْحَقُّ وَقَالَ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ أَنْتَ إِلَهِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Sulayman al-Ahwal, from Tawus — that Ibn 'Abbas said: 'When the Prophet ﷺ rose to perform the night voluntary prayer [tahajjud]...' then mentioned a supplication similar to that [narrated] from Sufyan, except that he said: 'Your promise is truth, Your word is truth, and Your meeting is truth,' and he said: 'And what I have concealed and what I have made known. You are my God — there is no god but You.'
