English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from Abi Ishaq, from Abi al-Ahwas — that Ibn Mas'ud said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: A servant keeps lying until he is recorded as a habitual liar; and keeps telling the truth until he is recorded as profoundly truthful [siddiq].'
