حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ مَهَانَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ تَصَدَّقْنَ وَلَوْ مِنْ حُلِيِّكُنَّ فَإِنَّكُنَّ أ
َكْثَرُ أَهْلِ جَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَقَامَتْ امْرَأَةٌ لَيْسَتْ مِنْ عِلْيَةِ النِّسَاءِ فَقَالَتْ بِمَ نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ جَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنَّكُنَّ تُكْثِرْنَ اللَّعْنَ وَتَكْفُرْنَ الْعَشِيرَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Mu'awiya, from al-A'mash, from Dhar, from Wa'il ibn Mahana — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O women, give in charity, even from your jewelry! For you are the majority of the people of Hell on the Day of Resurrection.' A woman who was not from among the elite women stood up and said: 'Why are we the majority of the people of Hell on the Day of Resurrection?' He said: 'Because you curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands [kafarna al-'ashir].'
