حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ حَصِيرَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَرُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ لَكُمْ رُبُعُهَا
وَلِسَائِرِ النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَرْبَاعِهَا قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَثُلُثَهَا قَالُوا فَذَاكَ أَكْثَرُ قَالَ فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَالشَّطْرَ قَالُوا فَذَلِكَ أَكْثَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ أَنْتُمْ مِنْهَا ثَمَانُونَ صَفًّا

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Affan, from 'Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad, from al-Harith ibn Hasira, from al-Qasim ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: 'How would you feel about being one-quarter of the people of Paradise — a quarter for you and three-quarters for all other people?' They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: 'How would you feel about a third?' They said: That is even better! He said: 'How would you feel about half?' They said: That is even better! the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: 'The people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection will be in one hundred and twenty rows — eighty of those rows will be you [this ummah].'
