حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ عَنْ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَق
ْمَرِ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَلْقَى اللَّهَ غَدًا مُسْلِمًا فَلْيُحَافِظْ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ حَيْثُ يُنَادَى بِهِنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ شَرَعَ سُنَنَ الْهُدَى لِنَبِيِّهِ وَإِنَّهُنَّ مِنْ سُنَنِ الْهُدَى وَإِنِّي لَا أَحْسِبُ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدًا إِلَّا لَهُ مَسْجِدٌ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَلَوْ صَلَّيْتُمْ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ وَتَرَكْتُمْ مَسَاجِدَكُمْ لَتَرَكْتُمْ سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَوْ تَرَكْتُمْ سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكُمْ لَضَلَلْتُمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Qatan, from al-Mas'udi, from 'Ali ibn al-Aqmar, from Abu al-Ahwas — that he said: 'Whoever wishes to meet Allah tomorrow as a Muslim, let him guard these five daily prayers, [praying them] where the call to prayer is made. For Allah (عز وجل) has ordained the guided practices [sunan al-huda] for His Prophet — and these [prayers] are among the guided practices. I do not think any of you lacks a place to pray in his house. But if you were to pray in your houses and abandon your mosques, you would have abandoned the Sunnah of your Prophet (ﷺ) — and if you abandon the Sunnah of your Prophet (ﷺ), you will go astray.'
