حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ع
َنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ وُلَاةٌ مِنْ النَّبِيِّينَ وَإِنَّ وَلِيِّي مِنْهُمْ أَبِي وَخَلِيلُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ { إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا }

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya and 'Abd al-Rahman, from Sufyan, from his father, from Abi al-Duha — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Every prophet has a close supporter [wali] from among the Prophet ﷺs, and indeed my close supporter from among them is my father [Abraham] and the bosom friend [khalil] of my Lord (عز وجل).' Then he recited: 'Indeed, the most worthy of Ibrahim are those who followed him, and this prophet and those who believe' [3:68].
