English Translation
Al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Nafi' the mawla of Ibn 'Umar, that Ibn 'Umar heard the sound of a shepherd's flute. He put his fingers in his ears and moved his mount away from the road, saying: O Nafi', can you still hear it? I would say: Yes. He kept going until I said: No. Then he removed his fingers from his ears and returned to the road. He said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do this when he heard the flute of a shepherd.'
