English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father who said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: What clothing should the person in ihram wear? Sufyan said — and another time he said: What should the person in ihram not wear? He said: 'He should not wear a shirt, nor trousers, nor a turban, nor a hooded cloak, nor leather socks — unless one cannot find sandals, in which case he may wear leather socks and cut them below the ankles.'
