حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ

سَلَّمَ يُبَايِعُ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً فَيُلَقِّنُ أَحَدَنَا فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ

English Translation

Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn 'Umar who said: the Prophet ﷺ used to take the pledge of allegiance (bay'ah) on hearing and obeying, then he would add: in what you are able. He said another time: as much as you can.
