حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُم

َيَّةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَبَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَيْلَ فَأَرْسَلَ مَا ضُمِّرَ مِنْهَا مِنْ الْحَفْيَاءِ وَأَرْسَلَ مَا لَمْ يُضَمَّرْ مِنْهَا مِنْ ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ

English Translation

Sufyan narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Umayyah narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ organized horse races. He released the trained horses from al-Hafya' to Thaniyyat al-Wada', and the untrained horses from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the mosque of Banu Zurayq. Ibn 'Umar was among those who raced them.
