Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ

Body (Matn)

وَسَلَّمَ الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا كَانَ لَيْلَةُ تِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَكَانَ فِي السَّمَاءِ سَحَابٌ أَوْ قَتَرٌ أَصْبَحَ صَائِمًا

English Translation

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from 'Ubayd Allah, Nafi' narrated to me, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The month is twenty-nine days, like this and like this,' and if it is obscured from you, then complete it as thirty.
