It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from al-Mas'udi, from Jabir, from Abi al-Duha, from Masruq — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — the truthful, the confirmed [al-sadiq al-masduq] — narrated to us: The sale of muhaffala [animals whose milk has been withheld to deceive a buyer] is deception [khilaba], and deception is not lawful for a Muslim.'
