English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya, from 'Ubayd Allah, from Nafi' — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a ring of gold and used to place the stone facing his palm. The people then followed [his example and made gold rings]. He [later] threw it away and made a ring of silver.'
