It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hammad ibn Usama, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Umar, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would begin the talbiya when he placed his foot in the stirrup and his she-camel stood upright beneath him — at the mosque of Dhu al-Hulayfa.
