English Translation
It was narrated — via Husayn ibn 'Ali, from Za'ida, from Ibrahim ibn Muhajir, from Abu al-Sha'tha' — that he said: 'We came to Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) on the middle day of the days of Tashriq. Food was brought and the people drew near, but his son stood aside. [Ibn 'Umar] said to him: "Come and eat." He said: "I am fasting." [Ibn 'Umar] said: "Did you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: \"These are days of eating and remembrance?\""'
