حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ سَالِمٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ
اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أُرِيتُ فِي النَّوْمِ أَنِّي أَنْزِعُ بِدَلْوِ بَكْرَةٍ عَلَى قَلِيبٍ فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَنَزَعَ ذَنُوبًا أَوْ ذَنُوبَيْنِ وَنَزَعَ نَزْعًا ضَعِيفًا وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَاسْتَقَى فَاسْتَحَالَتْ غَرْبًا فَلَمْ أَرَ عَبْقَرِيًّا مِنْ النَّاسِ يَفْرِي فَرِيَّهُ حَتَّى رَوَّى النَّاسُ وَضَرَبُوا بِعَطَنٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Bishr, from 'Ubayd Allah, from Abu Bakr ibn Salim, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'I was shown in a dream that I was drawing [water] with a pulley-bucket from a well. Abu Bakr came and drew one or two full buckets — drawing weakly, and may Allah forgive him. Then 'Umar ibn al-Khattab came and drew [water], and it [the bucket] turned into a large bucket [gharb]. I have never seen any powerful man among people perform [a task] like him, until the people were fully watered and their camels rested at the watering place.'
