English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ishaq ibn Sulayman, from Hanzala ibn Abi Sufyan al-Jumahi, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah — that he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "That the belly of one of you be filled with pus is better for him than that it be filled with poetry."'
